Are you stressed out over what mutual fund to pick? Which mutual fund family to go with, which mutual fund company is the best? Boy I was, I mean, I liked Franklin Templeton, well several of their funds and couple of their fund families, and I really liked the steady returns on American Funds.

Then I saw a few small cap funds that had numbers that were truly insane, but as I watched them closely without investing in them, I noted they often were like shooting stars in the night and came crashing down like a comet hitting the Earth and taking out the Dinosaurs, well in theory and to throw a little dramatic touch on it.

Like you I got to thinking with all these choices that, I am going to be spending many days in Starbucks and meeting with my financial advisor to pick one, or a couple that make sense for me. I asked How many is too many funds? Because there were so many companies, so many families and so many choices, I was going insane, why so much duplication, I thought?

Then if that wasn’t a big enough challenge I learned there are front, and rear loaded considerations and in the magazines they talk about the best “Fund Managers” too and why it is dangerous to go with fund managers with no track records.
